Accessorizing a truck is no
different than other things in our life, our homes or our
bodies... what we choose to add depends on out tastes, desires
or how badly we feel the need to impress other people. I'm
not one to spend hard earned money on chrome wheels, fancy paint
or impractical options, but I have invested in a few
"necessities".

Toolbox and Bed Liner
If
I were to buy only one accessory for my trucks, it would be
the first accessory I bought for every one of my trucks - a
bed liner. My preference is for the plastic
drop-in liners vs. the spray-on liners. I like the
extra protection of the additional "layer" and corrugated
floor. I've hauled everything from motorcycles and
ATVs, to firewood and construction materials and I have
never had a problem with the plastic drop-in liners
cracking, bending or permitting anything to reach the body
steel.
_______________
Brush
Guard
Where I live, this functions as more of a
"deer guard" than a brush guard. I bought a
beefy guard because we have more deer than here than NY has
democrats, and such animal-vehicle run-ins are a daily
occurrence. In addition, a macho brush guard can also be a
real asset when you are suffering a bout of "IED" (that's
the new PC term for
road rage).

My only complaint with the guard I chose is that after only two
winters, it is showing faded paint and rust. The
manufacturer either was sloppy with their painting prep, or used
a poor quality paint. The ideal solution would have been
to use a powder coating.
Wheels
Sorry kids, no spinners or thousand dollar rims on my trucks,
but I did need to buy an additional set of wheel rims to mount
my snow tires. I did the typical online searches for price
comparisons and deals, and as an afterthought I checked out
eBay. Whoa, why didn't I look there first? I ended
up bidding on and winning a set of polished aluminum wheels that
were approximately 30% of what they cost retail. As with
all things eBay, the shipping was a killer, but even with a $100
shipping bill I got an unbelievable deal. As you can
imagine, these rims were very heavy, so the freight was not out
of line. Need wheels - check out eBay first. There are
deals to be had.
